Updated 2018-05-29 to include presentation recording This morning I had the privilege of presenting at JNUC 2017 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My talk was an evolution on my previous talks about how I approach Onboarding new hires at Culture Amp. In the talk I covered the following topics: Onboarding new employees Standards within your organisation Okta Jamf Pro Apple’s Device Enrolment Program (DEP) SplashBuddy Below are my slides and embedded videos from the session.}

I’ve finally had some time to play with the YubiKey 4C and decided I wanted to get it functioning as a second factor with Okta. This guide from Yubico seemed fairly straight-forward but I immediately ran into an issue. While the YubiKey Personalization Tool (what you use to program the YubiKey) would recognise my YubiKey, it would show that there was an unknown error. I did a bit of hunting online and didn’t find much so reached out to Yubico’s support.}
So the beta program for Jamf Pro 10 finally opened and I thought to myself “Why yes, I do want to play with the new shiny!”. I set to work creating a clone of my Jamf database (hosted in Amazon RDS), and created a new EC2 instance to run the beta on. Once I’d connected to the Jamf Pro web app, I ran into my first hurdle. At Culture Amp I’ve setup all of our conference rooms as Zoom Rooms. In a nutshell, Zoom Rooms allow anyone to walk into a conference room and start a video conference without needing to bring their own computer. On the backend, Zoom Rooms are connected with Google Calendar room resources for scheduling. This means that by booking a calendar appointment as normal, and simply inviting the specific room, anyone can easily book a confernce room with VC.}

Last night I spoke via video conference at the March Macbrained event hosted at New Relic’s San Francisco office. Taking many pointers from this great post by Rich Trouton a year ago, I wanted to write a followup to how I’m deploying macOS Sierra in my environment. I’ve followed a lot of the steps that Rich has outlined but it’s probably easier to describe the full set of steps I’m taking rather than describing the differences. Firstly I’m downloading the most recent version of the macOS Sierra installer from the App Store then running it through createOSXinstallPkg using the following command:}
